Here is a good news for the people of Assam State, that the Government of Assam has come out with a scheme for the unemployed youth. As we know that the number of unemployment is increasing significantly across the state. Keeping an eye on it, the State Government has launched Mukhyamantri Atmanirbhar Asom Scheme 2024. This scheme provides employment opportunities to the youth of the state. The government will provide financial aid of Rs. 2 Lakh to Rs. 5 Lakh to the selected candidates.
The amount will be given in two installments and will transferred directly to the bank account of the selected applicants. All the permanent residents of Assam State whose age is between 28 to 40 years are eligible to receive the benefits of the scheme.
About Mukhyamantri Atmanirbhar Asom Scheme
Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam Sri Himanta Biswa, the Government of Assam State has launched the Mukhya Mantri Atmanirbhar Asom Scheme to assist the youth of the state who are unemployed. Under this scheme, the government will provide financial assistance to the youth of Assam State for establishing their business units. The scheme aims to provide self employment opportunities to the youth of the state. This scheme will encourage high growth entrepreneurship through business plan competitions.
The state Government will help financially to more than 2 Lakh unemployed youth across the state. The aim of the scheme is to enable unemployed youth to become self-reliant by providing them with the necessary resources, guidance, and support which includes training programs, financial assistance, and access to markets.

Eligibility Criteria
To avail the benefit under the scheme, you should fulfil these eligibility criteria:
- The applicant should be permanent resident of Assam and should be above 28 years and below 40 years as on 1st April 2023 (upper age limit is relaxed to 43 years for SC/ST/OBC category).
- The applicant should possess educational qualification as:
- Minimum qualification Class X Pass for general category (For candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC: up to class X)
- ITI, Polytechnic, Diploma in other Technical Courses, Post Graduates
- Degree Holders in Professional courses like Engineering, MBBS, BDS, Veterinary, Fisheries, Agriculture etc.
- The applicant should possess skills, experiences, knowledge, etc., to undertake the income generating activities.
- The applicant should have a bank account, which has been opened before 31st December 2023.
- The applicant should have not defaulted any loan taken from Co-operative and Nationalized Bank in the past.
- Not more than one member from any family shall be eligible for receiving benefit under this scheme.
- The applicant must have valid registration in the Employment Exchange.
Financial Benefits
- The Government of Assam will provide financial assistance of Rs. 2 Lakh to Rs. 5 Lakh to the selected candidates under Mukhyamantri Atmanirbhar Asom Scheme 2024.

Step 6: Fill up all the necessary details and attach all the required documents as applicable.
Step 7: Upload the project report based on the selected Sector/Sub-Sector.
Step 8: After successful submission an acknowledgement slip is generated along with a reference number, with the help of which the applicant can track the status of the application.
Step 9: An SMS and Email is being sent to the applicant.
Step 10: Applicant can view and track the status of the application by clicking the Track button and entering the applicant’s application reference no.
Step 11: If the applicant is found eligible the same will be notified to the applicant over SMS and Email.
