The Government of Tamil Nadu often comes up with the new schemes for the welfare of the citizens of their state. This time the state government has launched Tamil Pudhalvan Scheme 2024. Under this scheme the government will provide financial assistance to the boys of the state government schools who studied in class 6 to 12 and will pursue higher education. Earlier, the Chief Minister has launched the similar scheme called Pudhumai Penn Scheme, which aims to provide the financial assistance of Rs. 1,000 per month to the girls pursuing higher education.

The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Mr. Muthuvel Karunanidhi Stalin has launched Tamil Pudhalvan Scheme on August 9, 2024 in Coimbatore. The aim of the scheme is to support the students who belongs to backward families but have demonstrated outstanding academic records. This scheme will provide the financial assistance of Rs. 1,000 every month to the boys of the state government schools who studied in class 6 to 12 and will pursue higher education. Under Tamil Pudhalvan Scheme it is expected to benefit about 3.28 lakh students of the state. For this, the state government has allotted Rs. 370 crore for the financial year 2024-2025.

Tamil Pudhalvan Scheme Apply Online 2024
To apply online for the scheme, please follow the below mentioned steps:
Step 1: Visit the official Tamil Pudhalvan website.

Step 2: On homepage click on โLoginโ option and enter your User Name, Password, Captcha and click on โLOGINโ button.

Step 3: For the first time student login, the user name is the EMIS/UMIS number (you may get it from your respective institute nodal officer). For example, 9*******12. The default password is an 8-digit combination of the last 4 digits of their mobile number registered in UMIS and their year of birth. For example, if your mobile number is 9876-05-4321 and your DOB is 12/09/1999, then the password is ‘43211999’.
Step 4: Then the applicant can setup their password after getting the username and enter the Captcha code and click on โLOGINโ button.
Step 5: Enter your Aadhaar Number and click on โSend OTPโ option.
Step 6: Enter the OTP and click on โVerifyโ option.
Step 7: Application form will appear on your screen, fill the application form and attach all the relevant documents.
Step 8: Click on โSubmitโ button to complete the application process.
