Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India has taken the initiative to launch Swachh Bharat Mission on 2 October 2014. This Mission promotes cleanliness and hygiene across the nation with the aim of visual cleanliness and welfare of citizens.   • Applicants should be a resident of India.
  • Those households in villages that don’t have toilets and haven’t received any other government assistance for toilet construction are eligible. This includes households headed by women, small and marginal farmers, landless laborers with homesteads, households with physically disabled people, and SCs and STs.
  • Groups of households in urban areas that practice open defecation and don’t have access to household toilets are eligible.
  • Individuals who are graduates in any discipline and have at least 10 years of experience as a state or national level trainer may be eligible. They must have also facilitated training in government or externally aided projects, or for NGOs of national or international repute.
